Accessibility statement

Our commitment

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. These guidelines explain how to make websites easier to use for people with disabilities, and better for everyone. Accessibility is something we build in as we go, not a box we tick at the end.

We designed NetCompetitions to be used with a keyboard, with a screen reader, at high zoom, and with motion reduced, not just with a mouse on a large screen.

What we've done

• Text and controls are checked to meet WCAG's colour-contrast levels.
• Every page can be operated with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus indicator and a “skip to content” link.
• Forms have proper labels, and errors and confirmations are announced to screen readers.
• Pop-up dialogs trap focus, close with the Esc key, and return focus where you left off.
• Moving content can be paused: the “Pause animations” switch in the footer stops every animation on the site and is remembered on your device (logged in, it is saved to your account and also applies in the app; Account settings has the same choice under Display), the featured carousel has its own pause, and everything stops automatically if your device is set to reduce motion.
• Countdowns and live updates are announced sensibly rather than reading out every second.
• Pages use clear headings and landmarks so you can navigate by structure.

How well we're doing

NetCompetitions is partially conformant with WCAG 2.2 AA: this means we meet most of the standard, and we're actively working on the parts we don't yet fully meet. We know about the following limitations:

• Prize-draw animations. Every draw shows the winning ticket as text alongside the animation, filling in number by number, and the result is announced to screen readers. Replays wait for you to press play, and you can skip straight to the result. The animations themselves (the wheel, balls, reels and so on) are visual only, and we haven't yet finished testing them with screen readers.
• Carousels. In some horizontally-scrolling rows of competitions, cards that are currently off-screen can still be reached with the keyboard before they scroll into view.

This statement is based on our own review and testing. In October 2026 our main pages passed automated accessibility checks (Lighthouse and axe) at phone and desktop sizes, and we checked their layout at phone, tablet and desktop sizes in Chrome, Safari and Firefox. Automated checks only catch some problems, so we're also testing with screen readers and with a keyboard alone, and we'll update this page as we resolve issues.
